SWAM successfully organised the second edition of the Inclusion Run #breakinglimits event on December 3rd, 2023, to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we hosted Inclusion Run 2.0, and it was a resounding success! This year's run brought together a larger, more diverse group of participants from all walks of life, celebrating the strength of community, diversity, and resilience. This year we were supported by Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru who were the venue partners for the event, MTR the refreshment partners, Motherhood and The Orthopaedic Clinic were the medical partners, Divine Mercy School our transportation partners, SHOR was responsible for the volunteers present at the venue and Decathlon.
What made this year's event special?
🏃♀️ More Inclusive Routes: We expanded our routes to cater to an even broader range of abilities, ensuring that every participant, regardless of their physical capacity, had an enjoyable and accessible experience. From competitive runners to participants using assistive devices, everyone had a place in this celebration.
🤝 Unmatched Community Engagement: With the support of local organizations, businesses, and schools, Inclusion Run 2.0 grew into a platform where our community came together in the spirit of unity. These partnerships helped foster networking, shared resources, and enhanced support for the cause of inclusion.
🎉 Festive Atmosphere: Participants and spectators alike enjoyed a vibrant day filled with music, live performances, and interactive activities. The joy and energy of the event truly brought the community together, making Inclusion Run 2.0 more than just a race—it was a full celebration of inclusivity.
💬 Inspiring Stories: Powerful and emotional stories of perseverance were shared by participants and guest speakers. These personal accounts served as a reminder of the importance of creating a society where diversity is celebrated, and challenges are met with resilience.

We believe that events like this can help young people find their voice, create meaningful connections, and develop the skills and knowledge they need to be successful. We also believe that events like this can help to foster collaboration and understanding between different communities and generations. We hope that this event will be a step towards creating a brighter future for all young people.We are committed to providing a positive and engaging experience for all participants. Our team is dedicated to creating an event that is inclusive and respectful of all different backgrounds, cultures, and ideas. We want to ensure that everyone feels welcomed. We look forward to creating a space that is safe and welcoming as we explore the topics and activities that will make this event unique, memorable, and impactful.
PURPOSE:
SWAM successfully organised the Inclusion Run #breakinglimits event on the 14th of August 2022. The event was a huge success with a turnout of 150 participants both disabled and able bodied individuals. We had organisations like SILA, The Orthopaedic Clinic, KBR Foundation, APD, Shanthi Children High School and individual donors who came forward to support our vision and helped make it a reality. The participants of out youth engagement program were responsible for the planning and execution of the event, this was an opportunity for them to put into practice all the skills that they have learnt in the internship program.
The Inclusion Run, is a unique event dedicated to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and unity through the power of running. Join us as we come together as a community to break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and celebrate the strength of diversity.
